The Positions:

The Executive Board of OPSEU/SEFPO is responsible for upholding and enforcing constitutional provisions, implementing Convention decisions, formulating policies in the absence of Convention decisions, and overseeing Union activities, including Officers, staff, and subsidiary organizations.
The Regional Vice-President sits on the Executive Committee and ensures close supervision of Union financial administration. The Committee also generates reports, recommendations, and policy papers on political, economic, social, personnel, and administrative issues for the Board.

Committees

Provincial Women’s Committee
To create and support programs that encourage women to join in Union activities, promoting a better understanding of equality issues among all our members.

Provincial Human Rights Committee
To boost awareness and understanding of human rights issues at the workplace, our communities, and national and international levels among our members.

Provincial Young Workers Committee
To create and champion programs that inspire youth participation in Union activities while enhancing awareness and understanding of youth-related issues across our membership.

Provincial Francophone Committee
To create and promote initiatives that encourage the active involvement of Francophones in Union activities, fostering a deeper awareness and understanding of Francophone issues.

Disability Rights Caucus
To raise awareness about equity issues related to disabilities and address barriers and denied rights while encouraging the active participation in Union activities of members covered by the Ontario Human Rights Code who have disabilities.

Hardship Committee
The hardship committee will make decisions related to the hardship fund. The Hardship Fund aims to offer support to members in good standing facing dire circumstances.

Convention Committees

Credentials Committee
Comprising one member elected per Region, this Committee is tasked with assessing the validity of delegate credentials, monitoring access to Convention and reporting on delegate counts.

Resolutions Committee
Consisting of one elected member from each Region, this Committee reviews and provides recommendations on all received resolutions. 

Constitutional Committee
Comprising one elected member per Region, this Committee is responsible for reviewing and providing recommendations on all proposed Constitutional amendments.

Indigenous Circle
The Circle’s role is to establish networks within the regions, develop programs encouraging the participation of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit members in Union activities, and raise awareness and understanding of Indigenous issues throughout the membership.

Rainbow Alliance
The Alliance aims to promote programs to encourage TBLGIAPQQ2S (trans, bisexual, lesbian, gay, intersex, asexual, pansexual, queer, questioning, two-spirited) member participation in Union activities, and enhance awareness and understanding of TBLGIAPQQ2S issues throughout the membership.

Coalition of Racialized Workers
The Coalition’s role is to establish regional networks, develop programs encouraging Black and racialized members to participate in Union activities and raise awareness and understanding of issues impacting Black and racialized members throughout the membership.
